🦋Saturday shimmy delight with these beautiful Birdwing dancers🦋
It's been a while since I ran a dance workshop in Cairns and today's was such a lovely gathering.
We reviewed Global Caravan foundation steps, and learnt a few new ones too😍
We explored different formations such as turning a rotating circle inwards and back out, lines and fades...
And how knowing the cues and patterns of these formations allows dancers tne beautiful simplicity of working with a few select moves and really showcasing them in different ways💜
Discussion about technique, GC history, tribal styling and GC events were enjoyed too while we paused for a half time break💃
All in all a fabulous afternoon and so grateful to be able to share this dance and moments of movement with others💜
I thought about capturing some video footage of the workshop but was too engaged in the present moment, so just a little snap of us at the end💃

A fabulous two hour workshop exploring the foundation steps of Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance.

Suitable for the absolute beginner through to intermediate dancers, we will learn a selection of delicious dance steps and explore how we can create different lead and follow formations with them. Concluding with a FUN and fabulous choreography putting them all together!

A great introduction to Tribal style bellydance, this workshop will give you a solid foundation if you choose to step into the weekly beginner classes afterwards.

Each participant will receive workshop notes and a pre recorded choreography of the steps included - great to keep your dance practice going strong!

Movement will include guided warm up and cool down practices to support your body, along with tips on how to adapt things to suit different levels of ability.

Tribal in the Tropics 2025:
Reflecting on what was a most marvellous weekend despite not feeling 100% for the occasion.
Even though I felt I was in a dream haze of flu symptoms I am so glad I got to be there and witness all of the amazing and inspiring performances (what a joy!) and partake in the brilliant workshops with Nina, Deirdre, Aysha, Sienna and Richelle. They were all so engaging and I loved how each one reflected the diversity of our dance and each teacher's individual style.
What a pleasure to finally meet and dance with @curlygirlj Jamie and @hipswithattitudedance Deirdre. I hope we get the opportunity again!
I missed doing any crafting with B this year but we did share a lovely little dance duet together in the workshops.
Thankyou once again Nina for bringing everything and everybody together.
We absolutely love our TT festival and YOU!

We closed our fabulous class last night by drawing a card each.

We closed our fabulous class last night by drawing a card each.

I have recently been undergoing some more Global Caravan Tribal Bellydance teacher training and part of the course directs you to review and reflect on your teaching business.
For the past several years I have been without a dedicated website and have been using Facebook and Instagram as my point of contact/promotion for news and classes.
I did have a dance website prior but it didn't seem to generate much interest. But having had my Pilates website up and running for 6+years I am much more familiar with how to set things up more effectively.

So if you are reading this so far, YOU are the right person!
I have just finished my newly birthed, fresh & vibrant website and would love for you to check it out and tell me what you think. Including any typos, broken links or things not aligning properly on mobile etc. - on Android devices things appear as they should but I am unsure about iPhone/Apple devices. If you have the time and one of these please let me know if it looks okay on there.
